Ideologia política e consumo têm sido abordados em pesquisas do principalmente pela tradição de Consumer Culture Theory (CCT) por estudos orientação cognitivista (baseados na psicologia social). Essa pensata visa comparar o tipo pesquisa sendo feito pelas duas tradições, apontar suas forças sugerir pontos avanço para a CCT.
